Graphic Designer
Position Overview
The Remote Graphic Designer will support the parish's communication and marketing efforts by creating visually compelling graphics for digital platforms, print materials, parish events, ministries, and community outreach. This role is highly collaborative and requires creativity, attention to detail, and an understanding of design consistency within a faith-based environment.
The ideal candidate is artistic, organized, and able to balance creative vision with brand guidelines and project deadlines.
Responsibilities
Design graphics for parish communications including bulletins, newsletters, flyers, event promotions, and social media
Create digital assets for the parish website, email campaigns, and ministry announcements
Develop cohesive branding elements for parish events, programs, and campaigns
Collaborate with ministry leaders and staff to understand design needs and project goals
Edit and resize graphics, photos, and digital content as required
Maintain a well-organized digital asset library and design templates
Ensure all designs align with parish brand identity and Catholic values
Provide creative input for parish visual storytelling and communication enhancements
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously with timely completion
Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive parish information
Qualifications
Required:
Prior experience in graphic design or digital media production
Proficiency with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
Strong portfolio showcasing design capabilities
Excellent attention to detail, typography, and layout skills
Ability to follow brand guidelines while contributing creative ideas
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Reliable computer, design software access, and internet connection
Preferred:
Experience designing for a church, nonprofit, school, or ministry setting
Familiarity with social media graphics and digital marketing principles
Basic understanding of Catholic imagery, symbolism, or liturgical seasons
Experience creating short motion graphics or simple video edits (optional)
